Braille Academy: Play Learn
Braille Academy: Play Learn is an educational app developed by Xiang Dong. It is designed to help users learn the Braille system, a touch reading and writing system for visually impaired individuals. The app features 13 chapters covering a wide range of topics, including letters, numbers, basic punctuations, special symbols, and more.
With a total of 59 levels and 29 challenges, Braille Academy provides comprehensive training and testing to teach users more than 90% of the entire Unified English Braille knowledge. The app offers various themes to choose from, including a contrast theme for visually impaired users.
One of the standout features of Braille Academy is the Explore page, where users can click and see the Braille representations of all 26 letters, numbers, punctuation marks, and special symbols. Additionally, after completing all levels and challenges in a chapter, users can receive a certificate on the Certificate page.
Braille Academy also offers customization options on the Settings page, allowing users to toggle button sound, key sound, button vibration, key vibration, and more. The app works completely offline, ensuring accessibility at any time.
Please note that while Braille Academy is not specifically designed for people with severe visual impairment, the developer is actively working on improving the talkback/voiceover experiences based on feedback and suggestions from visually impaired users.
